Absences

Where applicable, a person is fully immunized against COVID-19 if:

  • They have received the total required number of doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada (e.g., both doses of a two-dose vaccine series, or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series); and
  • They received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days ago.

Absences are now permitted to occur at SJCCC in  Long-Term Care. A medical mask is required as well as active screening upon return.

The following absences (reasons) are permitted for residents in Long-Term Care that are fully immunized:

  • Medical
  • Compassionate/Palliative
  • Short-Term Essential
  • Short Term Social (less than 24 hours)
  • Temporary (2+days/overnight)
    • Prior approval from SJCCC is required. 
    • Overnight absences require a PCR Test and Isolation until a negative result is obtained upon return.

The following absences (reasons) are permitted for residents in Long-Term Care that are partial/non immunized:

  • Medical
  • Compassionate/Palliative
  • Short-Term Essential
