Upon return to the Centre, the resident will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To discuss taking your loved one for a temporary absence, please contact our Resident and Family Relations Advisors at:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long-Term Care (St. Joseph\u2019s Villa): 613-933-6040 ext. 21215.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complex Continuing Care: 613-933-6040 ext. 22370.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Risk Assessment Considerations\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SJCCC, like all Long-Term Care homes, will review and approve all temporary absences based on a case by case risk assessment, but not limited to, the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Centre\u2019s ability to support self-isolation for 14 days upon the resident\u2019s return.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Local disease transmission and activity.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The risk associated with the planned activities that will be undertaken by the resident while out of the home.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The resident\u2019s ability to comply with local and provincial policies\/bylaws.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any further direction provided by the MLTC.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If SJCCC denies a temporary absence request, the Centre will communicate this to the resident\/substitute decision-maker in writing, including the rationale for this decision.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ltchomes.net\/LTCHPORTAL\/Content\/Snippets\/CMOH%20Directive%203%20(EN).pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.ltchomes.net\/LTCHPORTAL\/Content\/Snippets\/CMOH%20Directive%203%20(EN).<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Temporary Absences Residents may leave SJCCC\u2019s property for a temporary absence (one or more nights) for personal reasons.
