Our goal is simple: to create a space where every staff member, patient, resident, and family feels seen, respected, and safe. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Building an inclusive culture strengthens innovation, improves outcomes, and drives positive change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re doing the work\u2014updating language, celebrating diverse voices, and embedding inclusion in everything we do.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Why does this matter in healthcare?\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Equity, diversity, and inclusion lead to better care. When we understand and address the barriers our staff, residents, and patients face, we improve their experiences\u2014and their health outcomes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SJCCC is committed to putting EDI into practice across all areas of care. Through ongoing policy review and data tracking, we hold ourselves accountable to the people we serve.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Our efforts to date:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Inclusive, gender-neutral policies and signage<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EDI is built into staff orientation and annual education<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Gender-neutral change rooms and washrooms<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Recognition of cultural and awareness days<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EDI messaging on digital screens and social media<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Education on cultural celebrations across our community<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cultural art and imagery in common spaces<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Annual staff survey<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: trebuchet ms, sans-serif;\">Specialty menus\/meal\u00a0features to celebrate important cultural events<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">New learning opportunities focused on EDI<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Membership in the IDEA Coalition<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">People &amp; Culture Committee led by staff<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">EDI on all subcommittee agendas<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>Get Involved<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help shape a more inclusive SJCCC.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Have feedback or want to share your story?
