R<\/strong><\/span>EPORT<\/u><\/strong> FROM THE BOARD<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 05 September 2017.\u00a0 Ms. Kim Gillet, Chief Nursing Executive, was welcomed to the meeting.<\/p>\n

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES<\/u><\/p>\n

Membership Response to Board Requests from Annual Meeting<\/u> \u2013 Two memorandums from the Members of the Corporation have been received:\u00a0 1) confirming Ms. Petersen\u2019s appointment to the Board of Directors, and; 2) that all recommendations from the Annual Meeting were approved by the Members of the Corporation.<\/p>\n

Strategic Planning Day<\/u> \u2013 The date has been confirmed for 21 September 2017.\u00a0 The Senior Team has been invited to attend.\u00a0 The morning will consist of a review provided by Dr. Robert Stewart and Mr. David Levangie of Catholic Health International, including this Board\u2019s responsibilities.\u00a0 Later in the day, the Centre\u2019s Mission, Vision <\/em>and Values <\/em>will be reviewed, and the group\u2019s vision for the future will be discussed.<\/p>\n

CORRESPONDENCE<\/u><\/p>\n

Thank You Card from Mrs. Anita Roach<\/u> — In this card, Mrs. Roach thanks the Board and staff for the SJCCC cross given to her upon her retirement.<\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/u><\/p>\n

Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included PointClickCare\u00ae<\/sup> (Update), Sub-acute Capacity Planning (Update including occupancy data and CCC Daily Scorecard<\/em>), \u201cOur Team Board\u201d Long-term Care Initiative (where electronic boards at each nursing station will identify the Nursing, Dietary and Housekeeping team members currently caring for our residents), Good News Items (Connecting Ontario; local High Schools re cooperative student education programmes and in appreciation of our Centre\u2019s Bursary Programme), review of ten policies, and Census Data.<\/p>\n

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE<\/u><\/p>\n

Terms of Reference<\/u> \u2013 The Executive Committee\u2019s terms of reference were reviewed.\u00a0 No changes were made.<\/p>\n

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC<\/u>)<\/p>\n

Plan for Future Debt Retirement<\/u> \u2013 A plan was established last year.\u00a0 However, an updated plan, minimizing the potential cash impact in the last three years was reviewed.\u00a0 The intent is to restrict the interest at a minimum and; in addition, to assess at year end whether additional funds restricted by the Board are possible.\u00a0 This revised plan was approved by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Lifts<\/u> \u2013 A business case to purchase lifts was presented to the Committee and was approved by the Board of Directors.\u00a0 This purchase will complete the project of installing a lift at every bed in the facility and will include upgrades to the personal care centres at no charge plus discounted slings for one year.<\/p>\n

Financial Statements<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The Board of Directors approved the Financial Statements for the Four Months Ending 31 July 2017<\/em> as presented.<\/p>\n

Terms of Reference<\/u> \u2013 The Committee\u2019s terms of reference were reviewed.\u00a0 Minor changes were approved by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Management Fiduciary Statement<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The Management Fiduciary Statements for April and May 201, and June and July 2017<\/em> were approved.<\/p>\n

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u> \u2013 The Centre\u2019s Education Calendar<\/em> for September 2017 and Governance Educational Opportunities were circulated to the Board of Directors for information.<\/p>\n

The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Tuesday, 03 October 2017 at noon in the Boardroom.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
