REPORT <\/u><\/strong>FROM<\/u><\/strong> THE <\/u><\/strong>BOARD OF DIRECTORS<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The regular monthly<\/span> meeting of the Board<\/span> of Directors for February was held on 29\u00a0January 2019.<\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included:\u00a0 Hotel Dieu Outreach Programme (10-week Pilot Project to follow patients post-discharge and identify and resolve gaps which may exist in the community); Ministry Inspection and Compliance (St. Joseph\u2019s Villa is fully compliant); Good News (Alzheimer Information Presentation sponsored by the Family Council was very successful); and Census Data.\u00a0 Also discussed:<\/p>\n

Corporate Policy Review re French Language S<\/span>ervices<\/em><\/u> \u2013 The Board of Directors reviewed the Centre\u2019s policy and suggested one revision.\u00a0 The policy was approved as revised.<\/p>\n

ETHICS AND MISSION COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Corporate Policy Review re Death with Dignity<\/em><\/u> \u2013 An amendment has been made to Appendix A of this policy.\u00a0 The Board of Directors approved the policy as revised.<\/p>\n

Annual Committee Workplan<\/u><\/em> \u2013 <\/em>The Board of Directors approved the Committee\u2019s annual workplan for 2018-19 as presented.<\/p>\n

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Statements<\/u><\/em> \u2013 Ms. Lalonde reviewed the statements. \u00a0Both operations will end the year with surpluses.\u00a0 The Board of Directors approved the Financial Statements for the periods ended 30 November 2018 and 31 December 2018<\/em> as presented.<\/p>\n

Annual Committee Workplan<\/u><\/em> \u2013 <\/em>The Board of Directors approved the Committee\u2019s annual workplan for 2018-19 as presented.<\/p>\n

Management Fiduciary Statement<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The Board of Directors approved the Management Fiduciary Statement for November and December 2018.<\/em><\/p>\n

PROFESSIONAL ADVISOR<\/u><\/strong>Y COMMITTEE (PAC)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Physician Recruitment<\/u> \u2013 An advertisement will be placed in the February edition of the Canadian Family Physician Journal.\u00a0 <\/em>This will include some online exposure as well.<\/p>\n

2019 Medical Staff Reapplications<\/u> \u2013 The following physicians were reappointed by the Board to the medical staff for 2019 for the privileges previously held, as recommended by the PAC:\u00a0 Dr. E. Bazile, Dr.\u00a0G.\u00a0Foley and Dr. M.S. Reen.<\/p>\n

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Board Member Advertisement<\/u> \u2013 This year\u2019s advertisement for new Board Members will include:\u00a0 \u201cConsideration will be given to those applicants with experience in the areas of Human Resources Management, Public Relations and Branding.\u201d\u00a0 The advertisement will be placed on the Centre\u2019s website and in both local newspapers at the end of January, seeking a response by mid-January.<\/p>\n

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The Centre\u2019s Education Calendar<\/em> for February 2019<\/em> was circulated to the Board of Directors for information.\u00a0 There will be a Governance Education Day on April 10th<\/sup> in the Ottawa area for all Board Members.<\/p>\n
