REPORT <\/u><\/strong>FROM<\/u><\/strong> THE <\/u><\/strong>BOARD<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 02 April 2019.<\/p>\n

CORRESPONDENCE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Letters of Resignation<\/u> \u2013 The Board of Directors accepted with regret the resignations of Ms. Brenda Petersen and Ms. Juliette Payette.<\/p>\n

CHAIRPERSON\u2019S REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ontario Health Restructuring<\/u> \u2013 The slide deck from the Catholic Health Association of Ontario conference which Mr. Desnoyers and Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire attended a few weeks ago is now available and will be sent to Board Members.<\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included:\u00a0 Long-Term Care Service Accountability Agreement (L-SAA) Schedule E re Declaration of Compliance<\/em> (approved and signed), Corporate Health and Safety Policy <\/em>(approved), Fall Strategic Planning Session (confirmed for 12 September 2019), Good News Item (St. Joseph\u2019s Villa was voted the Standard-Freeholder <\/em>2018 Readers\u2019 Choice for Long-Term Care facilities, Census Data (the wait list for a Long-Term Care bed in our facility is increasing), Volunteers\u2019 Tea (to be held on 10 April 2019), and Hospital Service Accountability Agreement<\/em> (circulated for information). \u00a0Also discussed:<\/p>\n

Ontario Health Team (OHT)<\/u> \u2013 We are expecting the requirements soon to set up OHTs.\u00a0 Different models are being proposed.\u00a0 Once more details and the Province\u2019s formal OHT budget are known, we will have more insight on how to move forward.<\/p>\n

ETHICS AND MISSION COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ethical Issues<\/u> \u2013 The Board agreed that ethical issues would be reviewed quarterly by the Board of Directors and this has been added to its Workplan.<\/em><\/p>\n

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Statements<\/u><\/em> \u2013 Ms. Lalonde reviewed the statements.\u00a0 The Board of Directors approved the Financial Statements for the period ended 28 February 2019 <\/em>as presented.<\/p>\n

Management Fiduciary Statement<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The Board of Directors approved the Management Fiduciary Statement for February 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n

AUXILIARY REPORT<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 Mrs. Vincelli highlighted her report.\u00a0 A donation of $20,000 was made to the Centre by the Auxiliary at their Annual General Meeting held Thursday, 21\u00a0March 2019.\u00a0 The Auxiliary was pleased to recognize Tammie Menard, on the occasion of her retirement.\u00a0 Mr. Desnoyers thanked the Auxiliary team for their ongoing efforts and generosity.<\/p>\n

PROFESSIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Hotel Dieu (HD) Signage Title Clarification<\/u> \u2013 The Board of Directors agreed to include the wording \u201cRestore and Rehab Centre\u201d to our HD signage and programme pamphlets to help differentiate services between our programmes and an acute hospital setting.<\/p>\n

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The Centre\u2019s Education Calendar<\/em> for April 2019 was circulated to the Board of Directors for information.\u00a0 There will be a Governance Education Day on April 10th<\/sup> in Perth for all Board Members who have registered.\u00a0 The Ontario Hospital Association and Governance Centre educational opportunities were also circulated for information.<\/p>\n

The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Tuesday, 15 May 2019 at noon in the Boardroom.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Annual Meeting will be held on that day.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
