{"id":1691,"date":"2019-12-13T13:43:48","date_gmt":"2019-12-13T18:43:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=1691"},"modified":"2019-12-13T13:43:48","modified_gmt":"2019-12-13T18:43:48","slug":"summary-of-the-december-2019-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=1691","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the December 2019 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><u>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/u><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 03 December 2019.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><u>ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included SJCCC\u2019s Evacuation Exercise (in Long-Term Care (LTC) on Kane House completed in 3 and a half minutes), Staff Education Days (included informing the employees about the Bed Rail Reduction Program and initiating the vision statement contest) and Census Data.\u00a0 Also discussed:<\/p>\n<p><u>Bed Rail Reduction Program<\/u> \u2013 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire discussed the Bed Rail Reduction Program and what St. Joseph\u2019s Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC) has accomplished so far.\u00a0 A request will be sent to the Ministry requesting an extension to complete the bed rail compliance order.<\/p>\n<p><u>Good News<\/u> \u2013 The Auxiliary Bishop Desrochers will be celebrating the Advent Mass with SJCCC on 13 December 2019.\u00a0 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire invited all the Board members.<\/p>\n<p>Over thirty entries were submitted for the \u201cCreate our Vision Statement\u201d contest.\u00a0 The judges included family members of patients and residents, Board members, Staff and Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph (RHSJ) members.\u00a0 Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire brought the top five visions to the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><u>COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Financial Statements<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The statements were reviewed.\u00a0 The Board of Directors\u00a0approved the\u00a0<em>Financial\u00a0Statements for the period ended 31 October <\/em>as presented.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Management Fiduciary Statement<\/u><\/em> <em>\u2013<\/em> The Board of Directors approved the\u00a0<em>Management Fiduciary Statement for October 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><u>PROFESSIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PAC) REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><u>New Policy \u201cSerious Adverse Drug Reaction or Medical Device Incident Reporting for Hospital\u201d<\/u> <em>\u2013 <\/em>There is a new policy which will become effective shortly.\u00a0 The policy will require all hospitals to report all serious adverse drug reactions and medication device incidents to Health Canada.\u00a0 A policy has been written in accordance with this new legislation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><u>EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The Governance Educational Opportunities were circulated to the Board of Directors for information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0c74c4;\"><strong><em>The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 07 January 2020 at noon in the Boardroom.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 03 December 2019.
