{"id":1699,"date":"2020-01-21T10:31:21","date_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=1699"},"modified":"2020-01-21T10:31:21","modified_gmt":"2020-01-21T15:31:21","slug":"summary-of-the-january-2020-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=1699","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the January 2020 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/u><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 07 January 2020.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included Bed Rail Reduction Program Update, Mission Statement (the current mission statement remains the same), Vision Statement (the new vision statement was revealed at the Staff Christmas Tea) and Census Data.\u00a0 Also discussed:<\/p>\n<p><u>Good News Item<\/u> \u2013 The Activities of Daily Living (ADL) apartment is approximately 75% complete.\u00a0 The open house will be honouring the Pommier Jewellers&#8217; family.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (QI) \/ SAFETY COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><u>Call Bell Activation Graph<\/u> \u2013 The Call Bell Activation graph was reviewed.\u00a0 Specific and individualized interventions will be used to try and decrease the amount of call bells.<\/p>\n<p><u>Percentage of Residents of Demonstrating Frustrations in Quinn House<\/u> \u2013 The graph regarding the Percentage of Residents Demonstrating Frustrations in Quinn was reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><u>Estimated Discharge Dates (EDDs) from July 1<\/u> \u2013 The average length of stay (ALOS) is 61 days.<\/p>\n<p><u>Quality Assurance Scorecard 2019-20 (Q2)<\/u> \u2013 The Attendance Management Program commenced.\u00a0 At the beginning of every quarter, the managers now receive a letter from the Payroll and Benefits Specialist which notifies them of the employees who have an attendance problem.<\/p>\n<p><u>Balanced Scorecard 2019-20 (Q2<\/u>) \u2013 Virtual communication will be implemented in the new year.\u00a0 This tool will help to stay in touch with the patients who are discharged from the rehab program and are at high risk of re-admission.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC)<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Financial Statements<\/u><\/em> \u2013 The statements were reviewed.\u00a0 The Board of Directors\u00a0approved the\u00a0<em>Financial\u00a0Statements for the period ended 30 November 2019 <\/em>as presented.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>2020-21 Budget<\/u><\/em><em> \u2013 <\/em>The Board of Directors recommended to the Members of the Corporation the budget which has already been reviewed by the Fiscal Advisory Committee:<\/p>\n<p>-Long-Term Care:\u00a0 $14,357,792 with a projected surplus of $1,228;<\/p>\n<p>-Complex Continuing Care:\u00a0 $10,196,966 with a projected surplus of $2,421; and<\/p>\n<p>-(Combined) Capital Budget of $48,500 for the Centre.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Management Fiduciary Statement<\/u><\/em> <em>\u2013<\/em> The Board of Directors approved the\u00a0<em>Management Fiduciary Statement for November 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>AUXILIARY REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>New badges have been received and will be applied to the volunteer smocks in the New Year.\u00a0 The gift shop hours will be reduced due to the lack of volunteers.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u><\/strong> <\/span>\u2013 The Governance Educational Opportunities were circulated to the Board of Directors for information.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>ANNUAL WORKPLAN<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The January Workplan schedule was reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>BOARD OF DIRECTORS PHOTO<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 An official photograph of the Board of Directors was taken.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><u>BED RAIL REDUCTION PROGRAM<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 A few Board Members joined Mrs. McNally to view the Bed Rail Reduction process in action.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0076bf;\"><strong><em>The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 04 February 2020 at noon in the Boardroom.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 07 January 2020.
