ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/p>\n
Mrs. Ruest\u2019s report included information regarding the Sister Cobey Award, Employee Service Awards, the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Long-Term Care Liaison Committee, and Census data.\u00a0 Also discussed were:<\/p>\n
Accountability Agreement<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 The Centre has received a 60-day notice from the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) that we will be entering into an\u00a0Accountability Agreement for 2014\/15<\/em>.\u00a0 This is an annual process.<\/p>\n Fire Safety\u00a0\u2013 The tragedy in the nursing home in L’Isle-Verte, Quebec has brought fire safety to the forefront.\u00a0 Mrs. Ruest reported that our entire building is sprinkler-protected.\u00a0 Monthly fire drills are held for all three shifts.\u00a0 A response time paper exercise based on staffing was completed in Fall 2013 whereby it was determined that our response time in a fire situation is better that the available time.<\/p>\n Ontario Budget<\/em>\u00a0\/ Advocacy\u00a0\u2013 Our member associations, the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and the Ontario Association of Non-profit Homes and Services for Seniors (OANHSS) are both actively participating in pre-budget advocacy strategy.\u00a0 The OHA is calling for the Government to create a comprehensive health system capacity plan to address increasing service pressures and inform decision making.\u00a0 OANHSS has prepared key recommendations to the Government to address the following challenging needs in the Long-term Care sector:\u00a0 physical acuity, prevalence and growth in mental health diagnoses, and aggressive behaviours.\u00a0 There was consensus by the Board that a letter be sent to Mr.\u00a0Jim\u00a0McDonell, MPP, to inform him of the pressing funding and services issues which should not be ignored.<\/p>\n COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE<\/p>\n Financial Statements<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Both operations are on budget.\u00a0 Sick leave continues to be a concern.\u00a0 The Board of Directors approved the\u00a0Financial Statements<\/em>\u00a0for the period ending 31 December 2013 as presented.<\/p>\n Management Fiduciary Statement<\/em>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/em>The Board of Directors approved the\u00a0Management Fiduciary Statement\u00a0<\/em>for November and December 2013 and referred them to the Members of the Corporation for information.<\/p>\n KPMG Audit Planning Report<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 The\u00a0KPMG Audit Planning Report\u00a0<\/em>was reviewed and approved by the Finance Committee.<\/p>\n Budget for 2014\/15\u00a0\u2013 The Budget will be presented to the next Finance meeting.\u00a0 The\u00a0Hospital Annual Planning Submission (HAPS)<\/em>, a planning document to assist with negotiations with the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is due 14 February 2014.\u00a0 This allows approximately six weeks for discussion prior to finalization of the\u00a0Hospital Service Accountability Agreement.<\/em><\/p>\n AUXILIARY REPORT<\/p>\n Mrs. Lamond highlighted the following items of her report:\u00a0 Annual General Meeting of Auxiliary on March 20th<\/sup>, Genie Wish, Valentine\u2019s Day Gift Shop Draw, and $25,000 donation to St. Joseph\u2019s Continuing Care Centre.<\/p>\n Mrs. Lamond was thanked for the generosity and hard work of the Auxiliary members.<\/p>\n MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE<\/p>\n Medical Staff Reapplications\u00a0\u2013 Drs.
