{"id":2079,"date":"2020-08-17T15:21:21","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T19:21:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=2079"},"modified":"2020-08-17T15:21:21","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T19:21:21","slug":"summary-of-the-august-2020-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=2079","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the August 2020 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><u>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/u><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 11 August 2020.<br \/>\n<strong><u><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #1566a1;\">ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/span><\/u><\/strong><br \/>\nMrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included: COVID-19 (update provided &#8211; <em>Long-Term Care COVID-19 Preparedness Assessment<\/em> due at the end of the month), <em>Management Goals and Objectives 2020-2021 \u2013 Update Q1<\/em>, Good News Item (Recreation has been focusing on taking the residents outside to enjoy the weather and some fresh air. They have continued to keep the residents at the forefront.) and Census Data.<\/p>\n<p><u>Attestation<\/u> \u2013 In accordance with the <em>Broader Public Sector Accountability Act<\/em>, an <em>Attestation Form<\/em> and supporting schedules must be filed with the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN).\u00a0 The Board of Directors approved \u201cAppendix C \u2013 Attestation (re Consultants) for 01 April 2019 to 31 March 2020\u201d and \u201cSchedule A to Attestation\u201d as presented.<\/p>\n<p><u>Policies to Review\/Revise<\/u><br \/>\nBoard of Directors policy #2-a-10 re <em>Comprehensive Planning, Finance and Personnel Relations Committee<\/em> and Corporate policy #3-a-91 re <em>Corporate Procurement Policy <\/em>were approved as reviewed\/revised.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><u>AUXILIARY REPORT<\/u><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe Auxiliary will have a virtual meeting 12 August 2020.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><u>GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE<\/u><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<u>Letter of Resignation<\/u> \u2013 The Board of Directors accepted with regret the resignation of Ms. Linda Wilson.<\/p>\n<p><u>Board Self-Assessment vs. Board of Directors Annual Evaluation Form<\/u> \u2013 Both evaluations will be combined into one.<\/p>\n<p><u>Board of Directors Vacancy<\/u> \u2013 The Governance Committee continue their search for a new Director on the Board.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><u>EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The Governance Educational Opportunities were circulated to the Board of Directors for information.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><u>ANNUAL WORKPLAN<\/u><\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The workplan for the month of August was reviewed.<strong><\/p>\n<p><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #1566a1;\"><strong><em>The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 01 September 2020 at noon via video conference due to COVID-19.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 11 August 2020.
