{"id":3018,"date":"2022-02-25T14:21:27","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T19:21:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=3018"},"modified":"2022-02-25T14:21:27","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T19:21:27","slug":"summary-of-the-february-2022-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=3018","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the February 2022 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 01 February 2022.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included: Our Centre Re-opens Safely Post COVID-19 (Sister Rosalia Cobey Awards, Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph (RHSJ) 125th anniversary), Vaccination LTC Pandemic Response (the Ministry imposed mandatory third booster vaccination date has been postponed to 14 March 2022), Crisis Communication Management, HIROC &#8211; 21 Questions about risk and Census Data. Also discussed:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Management Goals &#8211; Update Q3<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The Management Goals (Q3) were reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A special thank you<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211;\u00a0 A beautiful thank you card from a family was shared with the Board of Directors. Thank you cards are now shared and displayed at the appropriate nursing stations for everyone to see.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miscellaneous Policy Approval<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Corporate Policy 3-a-21 re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research Proposals<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span><b>DEFERRED.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board of Directors approved the following policies as reviewed:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Board of Directors Policy #2-a-6 re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Orientation Programme for Board Members and Members of Board Committees<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Corporate Policy#3-a-50 re<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> French Language Services;<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Corporate Policy #3-a-91 re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Corporate Procurement Policy; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">-Corporate Policy #3-a-92 re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Procurement Code of Ethics<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chief of Staff Transition<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The transition from Dr. Foley to Dr. M\u00e9nard has been made. Patients have now been transferred to Dr. S. Isaac and Dr. H. Panesar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>QUALITY IMPROVEMENT \/ SAFETY COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annual Workplan<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The Workplan was revised to remove \u201cReviews information collected through the annual <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Employee Survey<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and any quality improvement initiatives proposed by Administration in response to survey findings\u201d. This item will be added to the Comprehensive, Planning, Finance and Personnel Relations Committee Workplan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board of Directors approved the Quality Improvement \/ Safety Committee Workplan as revised.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC<\/b><b>)<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Financial Statements<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 The Board of Directors approved the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Financial Statements for the Periods Ended 30 November 2021 and 31 December 2021 <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as presented.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Management Fiduciary Statement<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 The Board of Directors approved the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Management Fiduciary Statement for November and December 2021.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>AUXILIARY REPORT<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Closure of the gift shop in January due to the pandemic. The Auxiliary is planning for an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in May. A meeting will be scheduled to discuss the reopening of the gift shop.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\">PROFESSIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE<\/span><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Policy for Review<\/span><br \/>\nThe Board of Directors approved Board of Directors policy #2-a-26 re <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Professional Advisory Committee<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Physician Reapplications 2022<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; The Medical Staff reapplications have been reviewed by the PAC and were recommended for approval.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board of Directors approved the reappointment of the following physicians to the Medical Staff for 2022 with the privileges previously held with the exception of Dr. M\u00e9nard who is now Active Staff:\u00a0 Dr. Bazile, Dr. Patel and Dr. M\u00e9nard (Active Staff). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Applications for Appointment to the Medical Staff<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 The applications of Dr. Sandhya Isaac and Dr. Harpreet Panesar for medical staff privileges have been completed and have been reviewed by the PAC.\u00a0 The PAC recommends their appointments to the Medical Staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board of Directors approved the appointment of Dr. Isaac and Dr. Panesar to the Associate Staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b>OTHER BUSINESS<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standing Item: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Annual Workplan<\/span><\/i><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The workplan for the month of February was reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Standing Item: Policies to be Reviewed by the Board of Directors<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Reviewed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<span style=\"color: #2a6ba3;\"><b><i>The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 01 March 2022 at 1200 hours via video conference due to COVID-19.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 01 February 2022.
