REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/b><\/span>
\nThe regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 27 June 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/b><\/span>
\nMrs. Lafrance-Allaire\u2019s report included: Ministry of LTC Inspection Report, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) – Desk Audit (desk audit is completed and SJCCC is 100% compliant), Good News Item (SJCCC residents participated in the Walk Weekend for the Alzheimer Society of Cornwall & District) and Census Data. Also discussed:<\/span><\/p>\n

LSAA Declaration of Compliance Resolution<\/span><\/span> \u2013 <\/span>Schedule E <\/span><\/i>re <\/span>Form of Compliance Declaration <\/span><\/i>is an annual requirement. There are two known exceptions indicated on Appendix 1.<\/span><\/p>\n

BPSA Attestation Forms A and C<\/span><\/span> \u2013 In accordance with the <\/span>Broader Public Sector Accountability Act<\/span><\/i>, an <\/span>Attestation Form <\/span><\/i>and supporting schedules must be filed with the Ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n

HSAA Article 8 \u2013 Form of Compliance Declaration<\/span><\/span> \u2013 <\/span>HSAA Article 8 – Declaration of Compliance<\/span><\/i> form is an annual requirement under the HSAA, an agreement with the Ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors approved for signature the <\/span>LSAA Declaration of Compliance, <\/span><\/i>the<\/span> \u201c<\/span>Appendix C \u2013 Attestation<\/span><\/i> (re Consultants) for 01 April 2022 to 31 March 2023\u201d and \u201c<\/span>Schedule A to Attestation<\/span><\/i>\u201d and the <\/span>HSAA Article 8 \u2013 Declaration of Compliance <\/span><\/i>form.<\/span><\/p>\n

ETHICS AND MISSION COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span>
\nSpiritual Care<\/span><\/span> – The Ethics and Mission Committee brought to the Board\u2019s attention that Father Dumoulin will be celebrating his 50th anniversary as a Priest, and 20 years serving at St. Joseph\u2019s Continuing Care Centre this year. A congratulatory letter will be drafted and signed by Mr. Desnoyers on behalf of the Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: Annual Workplan<\/span><\/span> – The Ethics and Mission Committee suggested that an optional meeting be added in June since the meetings in April and August are so far apart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors approved the workplan as revised.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Policies to Review\/Revise<\/span><\/span>
\nThe Board of Directors approved the following policies as reviewed:<\/span><\/p>\n

-Corporate Policy #3-a-26 re <\/span>Guidelines for Use of Advance Directives for <\/span><\/i>Healthcare Decisions<\/span><\/i>
\n-Corporate Policy #3-a-28 re <\/span>Guidelines for Care at End of Life<\/span><\/i>
\n-Corporate Policy #3-a-29 re <\/span>Guidelines Regarding Sexual Intimacy<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC)<\/b><\/span>
\nAppointment of Auditors 2023-2024<\/span><\/span> – KPMG<\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Statements<\/span><\/i><\/span> – The Board of Directors approved the <\/span>Financial Statements for the Period Ending 30 April 2023 <\/span><\/i>as presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Management Fiduciary Statement<\/span><\/i><\/span> – The Board of Directors approved the <\/span>Management Fiduciary Statement for April 2023.<\/span><\/i>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gym Update<\/span><\/span> – An update on the construction of the new rehabilitation space was provided.<\/span><\/p>\n

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span>
\nAdvantAge Ontario On-Demand LTC Board Governance Training for Groups<\/span><\/span> – The Board of Directors has agreed to purchase the subscription in September. The Board Members will have 365 days from the start date to access the course.<\/span><\/p>\n

Board Vacancies<\/span><\/span>
\nThe Board of Directors recommended to the Members of the Corporation that Ms. Katie Michaud be appointed to the Board of Directors for a three-year term ending in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is one more vacant position on the Board of Directors that still needs to be filled. It was suggested to advertise in the church bulletins. Mrs. Lafrance-Allaire and Mrs. Robertson will reach out to the appropriate contacts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Survey Results<\/span><\/span> – Survey results were very favourable.<\/span><\/p>\n

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND BRANDING COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span>
\nPolicy to revise<\/span> <\/span>
\nThe Board of Directors approved Board of Directors policy #2-a-40 re <\/span>Public Relations and Branding Committee <\/span><\/i>as revised. <\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: Annual Workplan<\/span><\/span> – Remove the Auxiliary items from the Annual Work Plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors approved the Public Relations and Branding Committee workplan as revised. <\/span><\/p>\n

OTHER BUSINESS<\/b><\/span>
\nStanding Item: <\/span>Annual Workplan<\/span><\/i><\/span> – The workplan for the month of June was reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
