{"id":4032,"date":"2025-01-17T15:38:44","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T20:38:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=4032"},"modified":"2025-01-17T15:40:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T20:40:51","slug":"summary-of-the-january-2025-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=4032","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the January 2025 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #2759b0;\"><b>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 07 January 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2759b0;\"><b>ADMINISTRATION REPORT\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ms. Lafrance\u2019s report included: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strategic Direction: Magnetic Employer &#8211; Nursing Staff Training,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Long-Term Care Inspection Report and Good News Item (the holiday activities\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">celebrated throughout the Centre) and Census Data. Also discussed:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry of Long-Term Care Report\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discussions continue to be held regarding the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">frequency of inspectors visiting the Centre. Due to an uptake on abuse and neglect during the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry has added more inspectors across the province to strengthen\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">compliance and enforcement in Long-Term Care Homes. We continue to study trends and are committed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0to providing more training, support and education to all staff.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Policy approval<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Board of Directors policy #2-a-4 re. <em>Board of Directors Conflict of Interest Disclosure<\/em> &#8211; <strong>DEFERRED.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2759b0;\"><b>NEW BUSINESS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Policy to Review<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Board of Directors approved Board of Directors policy #2-a-30 re. <i>Directors\u2019\/Policy on Open Board Meetings<\/i> has been approved as reviewed. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2759b0;\"><b>OTHER BUSINESS<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item:\u00a0<i>Annual Workplan<\/i><\/span> \u2013 The workplan for the month of January was reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item: Policies to be Reviewed by the Board of Directors<\/span> &#8211; Reviewed<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2759b0;\"><b>The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 04 February 2025 at 1200 hours via Hybrid.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 07 January 2025.
