REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 01 April 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Ms. Lafrance\u2019s report included: Strategic Direction: Expanding Senior Housing & Integrated <\/span>Campus of Care (a practical approach), Ministry of Long-Term Care Report and Good News\u00a0<\/span>Item (SJCCC celebrated the Feast of St. Joseph. An article of this day was featured in Seaway\u00a0<\/span>News by Leesa McNally, Director of Therapeutic Services) and Census Data. Also discussed:<\/span><\/p>\n

Policies to Review<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors approved the following policies:<\/p>\n

–<\/span><\/i>Corporate Policy #3-a-15 re <\/span>Contracts – Affiliation Agreements<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

-Corporate Policy #3-a-18 re <\/span>Contracts – Services and Projects<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT (QI) \/ SAFETY COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Annual Workplan<\/span> – A change was made to the Annual Workplan to reflect \u201c Reviews the annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)\u201d. This will be reviewed every year during the month of March.<\/span><\/p>\n

ETHICS AND MISSION COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Policies to Review\/Revise<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors approved the following policies:<\/p>\n

-Corporate Policy #3-a-21 re Research Proposals<\/span><\/p>\n

-Corporate Policy #3-a-22 re <\/span>Guidelines for Medical-Moral Consultations<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

-Corporate Policy #3-a-24 re <\/span>Death with Dignity<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

-Board of Directors Policy #2-a-15 re Ethics and Mission Committee has been deferred.<\/span><\/p>\n

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE (CPFPRC)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Financial Statements<\/i><\/span>\u00a0\u2013 The Board of Directors approved the Financial Statements for the Periods\u00a0<\/i>Ending February 2025 as presented.<\/i><\/p>\n

Management Fiduciary Statemen<\/span>t<\/span><\/i> – The Board of Directors approved the <\/span>Management Fiduciary Statement for February 2025.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE<\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Board member resignation<\/span><\/span> – The Board of Directors accepted the resignation of Dr. Sally Grant. She will continue to remain as an active member on the Ethics and Mission committee.<\/span><\/p>\n

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND BRANDING COMMITTEE<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Equity Diversity and Inclusion questions on surveys<\/span><\/span> – Suggestions in regards to the wording in our surveys have been reviewed and updated.<\/span><\/p>\n

NEW BUSINESS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Policy to Review<\/span><\/span> – The Board of Directors approved\u00a0<\/span>Board of Directors policy #2-a-35 re <\/span>Board of Directors Annual Evaluation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

OTHER BUSINESS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: <\/span>Annual Workplan<\/span><\/i><\/span> – The workplan for the month of April was reviewed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)<\/span><\/span> – A poster which featured a special menu for Eid-al-Fitr at the Centre. More cultural events and celebrations will be shared throughout the Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Standing Item: Policies to be Reviewed by the Board of Directors<\/span> – Reviewed .<\/span><\/p>\n
