{"id":4425,"date":"2026-03-03T13:47:53","date_gmt":"2026-03-03T18:47:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=4425"},"modified":"2026-03-03T13:47:53","modified_gmt":"2026-03-03T18:47:53","slug":"summary-of-the-january-2026-board-of-directors-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sjccc.ca\/sjeng\/?p=4425","title":{"rendered":"Summary of the January 2026 Board of Directors Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>REPORT FROM THE BOARD<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 06 January 2026.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nMs. Lafrance\u2019s report included: The Strategic Priority: Progressive Senior Care &#8211; Read.ai, Strategic Priority: Expanding RCM Horizons, Ministry of Long-Term Care Report for November 2025 and Good News Item (Holiday activities celebrated throughout the Centre) and Census Data. Also discussed:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">AI transcribing software<\/span> &#8211; The Board approved a three-month pilot starting at the next Board meeting, running through the end of the fiscal year. To ensure privacy and storage efficiency, all AI-generated sessions and recordings will be deleted immediately following the formal approval of the related minutes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">French Language Services Remote Care Monitoring (RCM) Pilot Program<\/span> &#8211; The RCM pilot will continue until 2028. This multidisciplinary program helps seniors live safely at home by addressing care gaps. Leadership is now working with Ontario Digital Health to expand the program&#8217;s scope and optimize resources for Cornwall\u2019s growing aging population.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>ETHICS AND MISSION COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Policy Approval<\/span><br \/>\nThe Board approved the following policies as revised:<br \/>\n-Corporate Policy # 3-a-24 re. Death with Dignity<br \/>\n-Spritual Care Policy #12-a-90 re. Smudging Ceremonies<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>NEW BUSINESS<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Policy to Review<\/span> &#8211; Board of Directors policy #2-a-30 re. Directors\u2019\/Policy on Open Board Meetings has been approved as reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>OTHER BUSINESS<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item: Annual Workplan<\/span> &#8211; The workplan for the month of January was reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Standing Item: Policies to be Reviewed by the Board of Directors<\/span> &#8211; Reviewed<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The next regular Board of Directors meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 03 February 2026 at 1200 hours via videoconference.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>REPORT FROM THE BOARD The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors was held on 06 January 2026.
