Membership Response to Board Requests re Budget, Auditor, Annual Meeting Recommendations, and Appointment of Mr. Naugler \u2013 Circulated was the correspondence from Dr. Stewart, President of the Corporation, informing that all of the above matters had been approved by the Members of the Corporation.<\/p>\n
CORRESPONDENCE<\/p>\n
Thank You Card from Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph (RHSJ) re Sister Leonard \u2013 The card received from the RHSJ Community in appreciation of the flowers sent for Sister Leonard\u2019s funeral was noted by the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
ADMINISTRATION REPORT<\/p>\n
Mrs. Ruest\u2019s report included information on the Resident Quality Inspection (RQI) Follow-up, Partnership Agreements (with Nipissing University \u2013 for RPN to BScN Programme; and with the University of Ottawa \u2013 for Nurse Practitioner Programme), Enteric Outbreak concluded 23\u00a0August 2014, the French Language Services Team\u2019s June 2014 minutes,<\/em> and Census data. Also discussed were:<\/p>\n Policy Review \u2013 Four policies have been reviewed and were appended to the Administration Report. No changes are recommended at this time. The following policies were approved by the Board as presented (no changes):<\/p>\n -*Introduction and Organization Policy #1-a-10 re Mission and Vision Statements; <\/em>-Introduction and Organization Policy #1-a-15 re Values;<\/em><\/p>\n -Introduction and Organization Policy #1-a-35 re Organization Chart \u2013 Areas of Responsibility; <\/em>and<\/p>\n -Introduction and Organization Policy #1-a-36 re Organization Chart\u00a0\u2013 Personnel.<\/em><\/p>\n ADMINISTRATION REPORT (Continued)<\/p>\n Annual Report<\/em> \u2013 Mrs. Ruest revealed the 2013-14 Annual Report <\/em>of the Centre. The format will be very similar to last year\u2019s. The document will be translated into French and posted on our website and circulated electronically to our community partners soon.<\/p>\n COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, FINANCE AND PERSONNEL RELATIONS COMMITTEE<\/p>\n Management Fiduciary Statement<\/em> \u2013 <\/em>The Board of Directors approved the Management Fiduciary Statement <\/em>for the months of May, June and July 2014.<\/p>\n Update on Redevelopment of 27 York Street \u2013 The application process with the City of Cornwall is in process.<\/p>\n Resident Quality Inspection (RQI) \u2013 An inspector was on-site for a follow-up visit and concluded that St. Joseph\u2019s Villa is now in compliance with respect of the Inspectors\u2019 Order. Mattresses have been purchased and the Dining Room furniture purchase is in process. There are savings in the capital items which will allow sufficient funding to purchase an additional overhead lift.<\/p>\n Financial Statements<\/em> \u2013 Both operations are on budget. The Board of Directors approved the financial statements for the four months ended 31 July 2014.<\/p>\n Mrs. Ruest noted that during a recent visit by Mr. Cal Martell, Senior Director, Health System Integration for the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN), he discussed Transitional Complex Continuing Care.<\/p>\n EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES \u2013 The Education Calendar for September 2014 and Governance educational opportunities were circulated to the Board of Directors for information.<\/p>\n GOOD NEWS ITEM – Mrs. Ruest explained that, upon admission, every new resident receives an SJCCC pen, a writing pad, and a quilt or blanket made by volunteer quilters and knitters.
