The Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph Health Centre of Cornwall Fund (RHSJ HC FUND) was incorporated in 1998 to raise funds and support the mission of our founders at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre (SJCCC).
Directors are: Diane Lalonde, President; Brenda Petersen, Vice President; Sylvie Piché, Treasurer/Secretary; Sister Patricia Cuddihy; Sue Stewart; Laurie Sullivan-Kennedy; Debbie Allan; and Elaine McPhail.
Donations to the RHSJ HC FUND help improve resident and patient programs and provide for the purchase of specialized equipment. Every dollar raised helps us build on the rich heritage founded by the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph (RHSJ) more than 115 years ago. Our goal is to meet the increasingly complex medical needs of all our residents and patients.
We welcome your donation to help improve the quality of life of our residents and patients at a time when life is most fragile. We are pleased to recognize all donations and consider our donors and benefactors part of our extended family. We are also pleased to announce that we now offer Online Donations that can provide the donor with an immediate tax receipt.

Lights of Hope
The Lights of Hope campaign was first held in the Christmas season of 1989 and was the initiative of one of our local corporate sponsors, FARM BOY, and the Paediatric Group of the Auxiliary to the Hotel Dieu Hospital. All funds raised from 1989 to 1998 benefited the sick children of our community.
With the introduction of restructuring and the current direction of health care in our community, the Paediatric Group of the Auxiliary terminated their sponsorship in 1998; and the RHSJ Health Centre of Cornwall Fund continued this tradition.
Our Foundation is pleased to dedicate all the funds raised by this campaign to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre.
The Foundation is committed to meet the increasingly-complex medical and life support needs of our residents and to provide a comfortable environment for all. We are encouraged by individuals, local businesses and industries who continue to support this fundraiser. Every dollar raised helps us to build on the rich heritage founded by the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph more than 115 years ago.
Specialized Equipment includes:
- Pressure-relieving mattresses,
- Electronic vital signs monitors,
- Bariatric lifts for helping to move residents and patients from wheelchairs, to and from beds, etc.,
- Hospital beds,
- Comfort items such as special pillows.
The success of the LIGHTS OF HOPE Campaign depends entirely on community support. Your donation will bring light to the life of our residents and patients, and provide for their special needs, comfort and programs.
